National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn signed a Cooperation Agreement

On July 20, 2023 the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn signed an Agreement on Scientific Cooperation in the framework of the implementation of the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Measures to Increase the Contribution of science to the sustainable development of the country”.

The document was signed by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic K. E. Abdrakhmatov and the Rector of the University T.A. Abdyrakhmanov.

The subject of the signed Agreement is the integration of research, innovation and educational activities in order to increase the contribution of domestic science to the sustainable socio-economic development of the country and to combine efforts to train scientific and pedagogical personnel as well as the joint use of human resources, material and technical and infrastructure bases of both parties.

The Agreement provides for the creation of the National Academic Consortium which will directly coordinate the efforts of the parties:
• to intensify research activities;
• to intensify the development of joint programs in priority scientific and technical areas and mechanisms for their implementation;
• on joint development of the sphere of new technologies, innovative processes and training of scientific personnel;
• to optimize the exchange of experience and achievements.
The created structure will allow the parties to:
* promptly exchange experience in fundamental research at the system level;
* combine the efforts of scientists and specialists in solving urgent problems in the field of fundamental science and innovation;
* broadly develop intrastate and interstate cooperation in the field of scientific research.

The National Academy of Sciences promises to assist the KNU in training scientific and pedagogical personnel, improving their qualifications through the organization of joint research projects, seminars, conferences, exhibitions as well as to promote the formation of joint laboratories and departments, including branches of the department on its own base with a focus on organizing the educational process, related production practices for students, etc.

In turn, the KNU is ready to develop a system for training highly qualified PhD-level personnel, to support joint departments and their branches in research institutions and centers of the National Academy of Sciences.

At the same time, the University will assist the Academy in the re-equipment of the premises intended for branches of the departments, the organization of the educational process, attracting its specialists for this.
