On June 10, 2024, the Chingiz Aitmatov Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted an event in memory of the world writer and spiritual prophet Chyngyz Aitmatov.

The event was organized by academician, Doctor of Philology, director of the Institute A.A. Akmataliev. He noted that sixteen years have passed since the death of Chingiz Aitmatov, and in honor of the memory of the work of the outstanding writer, work is underway in 3 directions: 1. Research 2. Publication of the book 3. Propaganda.   He also noted that the book of 12 volumes by Ch. Aitmatov was published in Russian and Kyrgyz, and the publication of other works by Aitmatov was suspended due to lack of funds, and also spoke about the need to create an encyclopedia by Ch. Aitmatov.  

At the memorial event, the writer Begizhan Akhmedov was awarded the title of honorary academician of the Aitmatov Public Academy.

 Zamirbek Tashtemirov, director of the Kadam publishing house, spoke about plans for the future in the issue of publishing and distributing books.

Scientist Nurzina Yysayeva summed up the results of the event, spoke about the work done by the institute’s staff in the past, and elaborated on the work to be done in the future.

The event was attended by scientists and staff of the Ch. Aitmatov Institute of Language and Literature.
