On January 10, 2023, a meeting was held between the President, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanatbek Ermekovich Abdrakhmatov and the Scientific Secretaries of the Scientific Research Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting was organized with the aim of increasing the efficiency and role of science in society, solving socio-economic issues, developing those scientific areas that give reversible results, contributing to the sustainable development of the National Academy of Sciences, and hence to the development of the country’s economy and production.
The President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Corresponding Member K.E. Abdrakhmatov made a presentation. He emphasized that the efficiency of the institution’s work, its scientific “face” depends on the tandem of directors and Scientific Secretaries of the National Research Institutions. It is the Scientific Secretary who leads the current scientific activity, organizes the preparation of proposals for the consolidated prospects and the annual plan for scientific research and development, coordinates thematic plans for scientific research, develops criteria and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of scientists, prepares articles, presentations, reviews and much more. It is necessary to use the information space available to the general public in the form of social networks. This is exactly the platform that allows you to spread information, build social connections and build relationships. People spend a huge amount of time in them, communicate, search for information, establish business relationships, etc. It is desirable that each institute has its own website and through it acquaints the public with its scientific achievements and discoveries in an accessible form. Lectures, fascinating conversations, online excursions are welcome.
The main indicators of the activity of scientific institutions are published scientific works, monographs, articles, patents.
The journal “Izvestia of NAS KR” is published 4 times a year, so each institute must publish scientific articles in it. The number of publications, works of our scientists in journals with a high international rating is growing. We must try to maintain this trend.
Another important issue is the training of young scientific personnel and the renewal of the scientific and technical base. The low level of scholarships, low wages, outdated equipment, instruments, lack of funding for business trips and expeditions are the most problematic scientific and organizational issues this year. With the help of a grant from the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the amount of 499 million som, perhaps some of the problems will be solved.
After the speech of the President, the Scientific Secretaries of the Scientific Research Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic asked questions, made proposals for improving the scientific activities of institutions.
The discussion was also attended by the Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Academician Arabaev Ch.I. Head of the DICPR of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor Urusova T.E.
