On June 12, 2023 leaders of the National Research University of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic had a meeting with the Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Raimbachaeva Vinera Kalybekovna.

At the meeting they discussed the draft law “On Science” that passed the second reading in the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic. The scientists expressed their wishes and proposals that in the future such draft laws should be discussed by a wide range of people – with scientists, specialists and other interested parties. The scientists also expressed their desire to pay attention to the norms that are reflected in Article 22, paragraph 5 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic: The National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic based on the principles of continuity and scientific progress coordinates areas in the field of fundamental and applied sciences. The status of National Academy of Sciences has been clearly fixed.

In addition many questions were raised by the proposal to integrate science and universities. The scientific community of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic offered their visions and solutions to the problem which were presented in writing and submitted to the Chairman of the Committee Raimbachayeva V.K. The participants of the meeting agreed that integration should imply the interaction of science with education with subsequent entry into production which should lead to an increase in production and the country’s economy.

After the meeting with the scientists the Chairman of the Committee Raimbachayeva V.K. visited the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic where she got acquainted with the valuable library fund of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, highly appreciated the work of the scientific library staff and noted the need to preserve the rich heritage of the library fund for future generations.
