Meeting of TUBITAK with representatives of Academies of the Turkic World

The Turkic Academy and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBITAK) with support of the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States held a meeting with representatives of the scientific community of the Turkic world “Multilateral scientific cooperation and cooperation of the Turkic states in overcoming regional and global threats” from December 26 to 28, 2023.

The opening ceremony was attended by President of TUBITAK Hasan Mandal, Secretary General of Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, and President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev.

Representatives of the Academies of Sciences and Ministries of Education of the Turkic states presented the scientific and technological potential of their countries. In particular, the Ministry of Education and Science, the National Academy of Sciences, the Science Development Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Academy of Sciences and the Council for Scientific and Technological Research of Türkiye, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Academy of Sciences of the Republics of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan. Academician Borubaev A.A. and Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS KR Khudaibergenova B. M. spoke on behalf of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. The head of the Science Department Toktoshev G.Y. spoke on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. participants of the meeting discussed areas of joint scientific research and ways of scientific integration of friendly countries.  

The possibilities of overcoming regional and global threats through the development of multilateral scientific cooperation between Turkic States were discussed during the meeting. Dr. Aziz Sanjar, Nobel Prize laureate, professor at the University of North Carolina, who took part in the meeting online, shared his views on this issue.

The parties expressed gratitude to the organizers of the fruitful meeting and their intentions for joint cooperation.
