On February 21, 2024, in the large conference hall of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, a discussion of the draft Constitutional Law “On the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic” and an extraordinary general meeting on issues “On conferring the title of Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic” took place on the basis of a quorum.

 The session of the General meeting was opened by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, corresponding member K.E. Abdrakhmatov. In turn, he explained the reason for convening an extraordinary session of the General Assembly and stopped at the fact that it would be too late if the draft law on the Academy of Sciences was not adopted by Resolution of the assembly.

 On the first issue of the agenda, Advisor to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, corresponding member, Doctor of Law, Professor B. I. Borubashov made a report and gave detailed information on the draft law. During the discussion, suggestions and requirements were voiced.

 The moderator of the session, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, corresponding member K.E. Abdrakhmatov, requested the majority opinion on the first issue, all those present unanimously supported the proposed resolution “On the adoption of the bill”.

On the second issue of the agenda “On conferring the title of Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic”, the Chairman of the Department of Chemical, Technological, Biomedical and Agricultural Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, corresponding member, K.T. Shalpykov provided information. The report stated that on the basis of N. Kasiev’s statement, a unanimous decision was made on the issue of awarding him the title of honorary academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

 The President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Corresponding Member K.E. Abdrakhmatov, after considering two issues on the agenda, declared the extraordinary session of the General Meeting closed and wished the scientists success and health.
