CHAIRMAN OF THE JOGORKU KENESH OF THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC NURLANBEK SHAKIYEV MET WITH SCIENTISTS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

On March 20, 2024, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Shakiev Nurlanbek Turgunbekovich, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic D. S. Kendirbayeva came to a meeting with scientists of the National Academy of Sciences.

Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic N. T. Shakiev visited the Academy’s Manuscript Fund before meeting with scientists and got acquainted with the state of the manuscripts.

The President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Corresponding member K. E. Abdrakhmatov, gave the floor to Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh N. T. Shakiev.

In his speech, he noted that the country is lagging behind until science and education are developed, that little attention has been paid to science and education for 30 years, and stressed that in the current era of globalization it is impossible to live without science and education. He also noted the need to carry out reforms in accordance with the requirements of the time, the need to increase the salaries of employees and repair the academy building.

Then, the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, D.S. Kendirbayeva, speaking, noted that many published books lack scientific analysis, there are problems with preschool institutions, and world-class water scarcity studies are underway.

Then the meeting continued in the format of questions and answers, and the low salary of employees was named as the main problem. In addition, the issues of amending the relevant laws and strengthening the material and technical base of the Academy were raised.

Toraga Nurlanbek Shakiyev noted that all the issues raised will be worked out, while special attention will be paid to the requirement to improve the conditions of remuneration for scientists.

Toraga also stressed the need to digitize and ensure all appropriate storage conditions for the historical manuscripts of the Academy.

During the visit, Nurlanbek Shakiyev presented the National Academy of Sciences with modern computer equipment.

At the end of the meeting, N. T. Makiev congratulated the scientists on the Nooruz holiday and wished peace to the country and success in their work.
