On July 5, 2024, a delegation of experts from the Institute of Economics and Agricultural Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences visited the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. 

The meeting was attended by the Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Corresponding Member B.M. Khudaibergenova, Director of the Institute of Biotechnology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Academician A.T. Zhunushov, Director of the Botanical Garden E. Gareeva of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Hegai I.V., Head of the Department of Science and International Cooperation of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor T.E. Urusova, specialist of the Department of Science and International Cooperation of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Mambetzhunushova A.T.

The delegation arrived in the following composition: Xiande LI – researcher, Yongxun ZHANG – researcher, Zhilu SUN – researcher, Chen QIAN – assistant researcher, Fangfang CAO – Assistant Researcher at the Institute of Economics and Agricultural Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CASHN) is a leading national research institution in the field of agricultural sciences, responsible for conducting fundamental and applied research, as well as research in the field of new technologies relevant to agriculture.

 The purpose of the delegation’s visit is to organize and develop cooperation between the academies, the development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, and the exchange of experience between the staff of the academies. The head of the delegation Xiande LI noted that at the last SCO summit in Astana, Chinese President Xi Jinping held an in-depth exchange of views with the heads of other member countries of the Organization on issues such as deepening cooperation in various fields in the new conditions, including in the field of agriculture, as well as on topical regional and international issues.

The experts also visited the Institute of Biotechnology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Scientific and Production Center for Forest Research named after P. Gan, the Botanical Garden named after E. Gareev of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
